Wake Your Bible

Before teaching about Adam and Jesus, I wrote number 83, "Are You Risen with Christ?" That teaching set the stage for everything I wrote about in the last nine teachings. To be spiritually minded is life. To be raised with Christ is to live in the Spirit of resurrection and be children of that Spirit. Resurrection makes you heavenly-minded because it has opened the heavenly realm to you. All of this applies when talking about the resurrection of Jesus and the waking of Adam from sleep.

Now that Adam is awake and Jesus is resurrected, it's time to Wake your Bible. The point of this teaching is that you begin to see the Bible through the eyes of the resurrection. As we have been raised with Christ, so has our Bible. It's not as if the Bible itself is dead; our consciousness makes God's Word dead or alive to us. Our wisdom, understanding, and spiritual insight have also been raised when we are raised with Him. Therefore, reading and meditating on the Scriptures is life rather than death.

Rules or heaven revealed?

It's interesting watching the many different perceptions of people regarding their understanding of the Bible. Some see it as a guide to the flesh to teach them how to act in the flesh. Some see it as instruction on how to worship God in the flesh; others see it as an opportunity to gain great amounts of knowledge on scholarly levels. But none of that matters if your perception is not in the resurrection. The Bible is about spiritual awareness and teaches the Godly principles of the inward man.

Being awake matters when you read your Bible.

The Bible intends to teach heavenly principles that apply to your heart. That's why focusing on the absolute specifics in the flesh can entrap you and make you want to perfect the flesh. That's not the point of the Bible. God's Word is intended to connect you back to Him, teaching you how He thinks and acts and then transform you into His same likeness. The journey that the Bible takes you on prepares you for your eternal life. You don't want to be ignorant and unlearned in heavenly places as you enter the places of the Spirit.

When we focus on our Bible as an earthly guidebook, we are acknowledging that our Bible is nothing more than a history lesson on people's successes and failures, free from spiritual enlightenment. Paul teaches in Romans 8 that to be earthly (carnally) minded is death. Imagine trying to read your Bible and meditate in it with an earthly mind. Seeking it in that manner results in trying to mirror those earthly manifestations in your life and fulfill them in the flesh without a true spiritual awakening.

If you have been raised with Christ, your mind is spiritual rather than earthly. Therefore, your Bible reveals heavenly secrets to you that are hidden from those who sleep.

The Bible is not filled with rules and commandments to follow; it is filled with the truth of how heavenly government works. When God gives commandments, it is just God sharing His thoughts on how His government works in Heaven and telling you that you need these commandments working in your life to live there.

When you realize that there is no death, no pain, no sorrow, no lies, and no darkness in heaven, as well as many other no's, then you realize that commandments are more than rules; they are what heavenly beings live by to keep heaven clean and safe. For us who follow the Spirit, commandments are eternal words that God writes in our hearts after waking from sleep. If everyone lives by God's words, heaven and earth will be a great place to live for God.

Yeah, but didn't Jesus speak earthly?

Jesus spoke often in parables of the earth, but it was always clear that His intentions were not to teach people earthly things but heavenly. His parables revealed the hearts and minds of His followers, mainly His disciples, and guided them to look inward to heavenly secrets that would give them power with God.

Jesus was a master teacher at simplifying His Word with earthly examples, yet only the spiritual truly understood what He was saying. Some could put things together through reasoning and eventually figure out their physical manifestation, but they could never interpret the true spiritual meanings behind His sayings. Why? The Word of God was hidden from them because of their sleepy minds. If they were awake, they could easily see the glory behind the words of Jesus.

You can use the earth to learn many heavenly things, but the revelation must come from the Spirit, not just being an earthly witness of your surroundings. Jesus said, "Flesh profits nothing."

The secret to waking your Bible lies within your spiritual awareness. If you are awake, your Bible will be awake. If you are asleep, your Bible will be asleep. The importance behind this teaching is to reveal that you are the Bible. You are God's writings; all of heaven is reading you right now. Are you dead or alive, awake or asleep? Have you been raised with Christ and His resurrection written on your hearts and minds, or is the Bible just an outside book with history lessons about the earth and it's many members?

The secret to your Bible is knowing God always tells His story through the people. You are the Bible He is writing and the story He is telling to the world and heaven. Now is the day of the Spirit, and now is the time to wake your Bible.
