God Made You a Creator

The idea of being a creator is extraordinary. We have a God-like ability that needs to be exercised every chance we get. You may have never been aware it was even there, but I believe if that’s you, then today could be a life-changing moment for you. Outside of creating children between men and women, what other creative abilities do you have? I want to answer that question in this teaching.

In Genesis 1, God spent six days creating heaven and the earth, and on the seventh day, He rested. We know from this example that God is a creator, but that’s not all. What He did on those specific days should also bring great interest to you. When creating, God lives by one principle that causes creation to continue. He creates things that have seeds in them so that they can continue in the design He started. The purpose of creation is not just to create but to create something that continues forever and can reproduce after its own kind.

Genesis 1:11–12 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:29 And God said, (to the man he created), “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

The earth that God created can reproduce after its own kind because it was created with seeds living inside of it. Once created, the ability to procreate becomes natural and consistent. While there are many details in what I’m saying that makes all this possible, I want to capture a higher thought in this writing.

You are the creator now.

The first way we see God create is when He makes substance and matter like heaven and earth, trees and grass, people and animals, etc. The second way we see God create is by consciousness. This second part is where we, as people, come into focus. God is a Spirit, a Word, even the breath of life. At the creation of man, He put Himself in us so that we could live and relate to Him through spirit and consciousness. The physical world can move on and grow and procreate on its own. That’s the easy part. It’s God’s doing, and He controls that part. Our part of this will determine the state of mind the world will live in while we are in it. Our role is determined by the conscious awareness of our ability to create and destroy. In our conscious heart is the ability to create life or death, depending on our perception of God in our life.

All of this can seem a bit overwhelming, so let’s make it simple. The words we think and speak are like fruit filled with seeds, and those seeds are sown every day in us and others. Life on the earth is dependent on reproduction after its own kind. My question to you will be, what kind are you? A believer in God reproduces other believers in God. People of faith reproduce other people of faith. The word of God that you have in you will reproduce after its own kind. If you are of the God-kind, then that’s what you will sow and reproduce. If God gives it to you, you will provide it to others. This way of thinking needs to be in you every day. You have to be aware that your words and actions have an eternal effect on your surroundings.

We are the body of Christ, and with that awareness comes the desire to change the world we live in. Every situation in your mind and otherwise is an opportunity to create life and populate the world with the love of God. Sometimes the work may have already been started because someone else created it, so you may be watering it and helping it grow. Other times, you may have to create a new consciousness and give it an origin because it didn’t exist before. Either way, sow the word of God fervently and let Him do what He does best; provide the increase. He promises that He will not allow His word to return to Him empty and void. If you have a word to sow, then use it to create the life of God in the world you live.

Isaiah 55:8–11 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Let’s explain a little more.

In the word of God that is in us is the seed that is meant to reproduce ourselves so that we can continue in the world. We know how this works physically, but the real secret is in the consciousness that God put in us so that we can reproduce our way of thinking.

You can also say He creates a state of mind in you that can create the same mindset in someone else. This mindset is where we become creators. While we can build houses and buildings, and now through technology, even humans, the fundamental ability to create is still done by words and thoughts. Even when building a house, we have our ideas on display with the images we make. His word is the actual seed that God put in us that makes us creators like Him.

The Bible reveals to us that the seed is the word of God and that all seeds came from God. For this to work at its highest level, God must be the source of your ability to create. If you have the word in you, even evil words, you can create within yourself and others. When we look at the prayer that King David prayed to God, we see an example of the creation of consciousness that I’m talking about.

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

This has nothing to do with creating a new heart in his earthly body; it’s a new consciousness. He is asking God to change the word that’s in his heart. Remember, he had committed adultery, killed an innocent man, and then tried to hide all of it. David knew that if he was going to be a righteous king, he needed a new heart that was righteous in its nature, not a physical heart transplant.

We also see this in God’s promise of creating a new heaven and a new earth. While most people focus on the literal version of heaven and earth being made new, let’s focus on what happens to you when God’s word creates a new heaven and a new earth in you. When this happens, you can live in the new because He created a new consciousness in you that burned away with the old when it was replaced by the new.

Isaiah 65:17–19 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness. I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress.

Again, God is creating Jerusalem to be a joy and her people to be a gladness. That’s a state of the heart and mind. He is creating that in her by His word. This is how God creates, and you are in His likeness to create the same way; with His word (not your own).

The real ability to create is God-given. People are getting very good at mastering their mockeries to create. But genuine creation remains in God’s hands by His word. If God made a male and a female to procreate babies, then you can bet that man will do his best to imitate God in the same way. The perversion shows up when they try to reverse male and female roles. The way God created it works perfectly, and there’s no need to try and do anything that God wouldn’t do Himself. You can’t outsmart God no matter how defiled and rebellious you become in your thoughts.

That’s not the only way people pervert creation. The other way is to create falsehood in people with lies that oppose God. This is why we need strong men and women of God to stand up and be the creators of His word. He has always meant for us to be creators of good.

Let’s wrap this up for now.

You can create something good or evil in everything you encounter. Because you have the word of God in you, you can change your life and the life of those you live with every day. Imagine what happens if you are creating situations that glorify God and put Jesus first everywhere you go.

Creating is a God-given ability, and everyone has it. It’s true some use it for evil and wickedness but if we all walk in the truth of Christ and, by nature, create the desire to love the truth, things will be much different a season from now.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
